Sterling College Online Radio Frequently Asked Questions
If you have been paying attention to current events at Sterling College,
you probably know that a new online radio station is currently under
development. A lot of questions concerning the station are circulating
so here are some common questions that may clarify. Enjoy!
When will the first on-air date be?
Monday, May 9, 2005 (Mini-Launch), Actual Launch will be Monday,
September 6, 2005 @ 8 p.m.
What does SCOR stand for?
SCOR stands for Sterling College Online Radio.
What is the official web address?
The official web address for the station will be the following: scor.sterling.edu

What are the hours of operation?
The hours we will be on-air will be Monday through Thursday, 8 p.m.-midnight.
Where will the station be located?
The main studios for the station will be located in the commuter’s lounge
in Mabee library.
Why are we starting this SCOR?
We want to start something new and unique to Sterling College and we want to
give the students another mass media outlet and the opportunity to get involved
and experience broadcasting.
Do I have to be a communications major to help out with SCOR?
No, definitely not. We welcome anyone who wants to help out with the station
in any way.
How do I get involved with SCOR?
You will need to contact Becky Coke @ x.539 or bcoke@sterling.edu and
she will put you on the Broadcast Club members list. Also, you will need to
be a part of the Radio Lab that meets at 9:50 on Mondays. If you contact Becky,
she will point you in the right direction.
Will SCOR only play Christian music?
All types of music will be permitted to air. SCOR’s programming philosophy
will reflect, and be consistent with SC community standards.
How do I access the website from the Sterling homepage?
Simply go to www.sterling.edu
Click on the Sterlinks tab at the bottom of the page.
You will find a link that is titled “SCOR – Online Radio.”
Click on this link and it will take you directly to the SCOR website.
What will be broadcast?
We will play all kinds of music, have talk shows, broadcast sports games, and
possibly chapels.
